Canada Blooms Opening Night Gala

this year the people were surprisingly different. One of the key differences occurred when they changed the price of the tickets. They used to be around $200.00 with an open bar, but this year they were $75.00 with a cash bar. Makes sense at first glance. Who can drink $125.00 worth of booze in 3 hours? The problem was that the VIPs were given an open bar in a restricted section. So this year there was an invisible wall between those who have, and those who have not. This prevented the same kind of mixing of people as in the past.

Grow Great Grub Book Launch

I took the train into town, then the subway, then I was lucky enough to share the Dufferin St bus with a group of nuns dressed in light blue. At first glance, I thought I had stepped onto a bus with the Holy Mother! "Where will this take me?" I wondered. Well, whether it was to a book launch or the afterlife, I figured it was a good sign.

I have always said that being "Cheap" is the only luxury that both the rich and the poor can share. Everyone enjoys a great bargain. One really good bargain is Marjorie Harris' new book "Thrifty, living the frugal life with style." See the photos from the book launch held at fashionable Teatro Verde!
