Marjorie Harris launches her new book Thrifty at Teatro Verde

I have always said that being "Cheap" is the only luxury that both the rich and the poor can share. Everyone enjoys a great bargain. One really good bargain is Marjorie Harris' new book "Thrifty, living the frugal life with style." See the photos from the book launch held at fashionable Teatro Verde!

Landscape Ontario Congress - face2face

Landscape Ontario does two major trade shows at the Congress Centre. The first is the Floral and Garden Expo in the fall, and the second is the Landscape Ontario Congress in the middle of the winter. To my mind the first is more oriented to the Nursery and Floral trade, while the second is most definitely centred on the Landscape industry. In fact, many people in the horticultural milieu will attend the first but not the second. "It's all big trucks and testosterone!" I've heard said about Landscape Ontario Congress.

Remembering Cherry Beach

New Year's day gives us the opportunity to promise ourselves that we will live our lives to the fullest. So on New Year's day of 2003 I challenged myself to do a Polar Bear swim. My friend Andrew agreed to do it with me. Down we went to Cherry Beach on the first day of the year to test our resolve.
