"Everybody's different. Everybody has their own idea of what makes a garden, as you can see." Charles Pachter

Charles Pachter is one of the best known Canadian artists currently working. His work is specifically about Canadian Iconic images, the moose, the flag...

He is a Canadian celebrity, if such a thing exists.

I was very fortunate to do an interview with him this fall at his infamous downtown Toronto home, "The Moose Factory." The video features his relationship to the Canadian environment. It examines the difference between how he gardens in the city versus how he gardens in the country.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into this exceptional life.

President's Choice and Stokes Seeds Summer Media Luncheon

August 21, 2014

Every summer President's Choice, Stokes Seeds and The Veggie Guy get together to host a Tomato Tasting Luncheon.

They invite many of the local garden writers and garden related publishers to the event to get an advanced look at the new vegetables that are on trial for future introduction and retail.

As a media event it works really well. The garden writers get insider information which is valuable content which they can use in their stories. The companies get advanced publicity, and an objective evaluation of their new products.

Plus, it's fun.

One of the most exciting new plants under trial is this exceptionally dark purple ornamental pepper. There was no name listed for it so you will just have to wait for it to appear on the store shelves next spring.
